MAINTAINING YOUR INSTALL
Install maintenance is key for making your wig installs last. If you're someone who gets very oily and sweats frequently it'll be harder for you to maintain your install. I recommend using cotton/silk wrap tie, and or a cotton scarf. For everyone who has normal to dry skin silk wraps, melt bands, and tie bonnets will work great for you.
Please keep in mind not to overwear both due to heat being trapped.
Allow 24 hours after your install before you indulge in underwater/steaming activities. It allows the glue to completely set throughout.
When restyling baby hairs STAY AWAY from alcohol and oil-based products. Using such can result in your lace lifting early. Please especially refrain from using edge control.
The thinner the lace on the unit the easier it is for you to maintain your install. Although using HD over Transparent can shorter the time span in which you would have to change your frontal and or purchase a new unit.
REMOVING YOUR INSTALL
Removing your install correctly is MOST IMPORTANT when it comes to installations. If you are unaware on how to do so properly please follow these steps. If you are still having issues feel free to have your hairstylist remove your installation for you. (Could be looking at a small fee)
When removing your unit, you want to spray a glue remover along your hairline and use and fingertips to rub it in. The remover should go as far back as your glued down area. Afterward let the remover sit for about 2-3 minutes and you should be able to remove your unit easily. Any stubborn spots repeat steps.
If you do not have a glue remover on hand. DO NOT remove your unit with only alcohol or coconut oil. Using alcohol alone can dry out your edges and cause them to break off and using oil alone can cause your skin to break out. You want to mix both items together and use it to remove your wig. Although its not as easy as using a glue remover it will be safely off your head.
DO NOT tug your unit off your head. Not only will you cause irritation to your skin, but you can also cause removal of hair.
Healthy hair tip!
-Refrain from wearing your glued install for more than 3 weeks. Giving your hairline time to breathe promotes healthy hair growth. I recommend switching to a glue less unit and or getting a sew in for time period.
