Tape In/Micro link Install Care
I always recommend that my clients book a maintenance appointment with me for their micro link/tape ins hair extensions. However, if you prefer to do it yourself, I can provide you with a step-by-step guide to help you out. Just keep in mind that professional care is always the best option for keeping your extension in top shape!
1. Washing:
- Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse your hair/extensions.
- For curly and coily hair, opt for moisturizing shampoos to retain natural oils.
Recommended non-sulfate hydrating shampoos: Oplex No.4, Pureolgy, Design Essentials.
- Follow with a hydrating conditioner to nourish and detangle your hair/extensions.
Recommended non-sulfate hydrating conditioners: Oplex No.5, Pureolgy, Moroccanoil moisture repair conditioner.
2. Conditioning:
- Apply a deep conditioning treatment once a week to keep your hair/extensions hydrated.
- For curly and coily hair, consider leave-in conditioners or curl creams for added moisture.
-Avoid contact with micro link beads to avoid build up.
3. Styling:
- Use heat protectant sprays before using heat styling tools to minimize damage.
- For curly and coily hair, try using a diffuser attachment when blow-drying to enhance natural texture.
- Avoid excessive brushing or combing to prevent unnecessary tension on the hair/extensions.
4. Maintenance:
- Be gentle when detangling your hair/extensions, starting from the ends and working your way up.
- Avoid sleeping with wet hair to prevent tangling and potential damage.
- Regularly visit your stylist for maintenance appointments to ensure the longevity of your extensions.
Remember, proper care and maintenance are essential for keeping your hair/extensions looking fabulous. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or need more recommendations.
